Frequenly Asked Questions
-
How long is a session and how many times shall I meet with you? Each training session typically lasts for approx. 1 hour. To make the most of the training program, I recommend meeting with me once a week, or a maximum of twice if your schedule permits. This spacing allows you to have sufficient time to practice and reinforce the training techniques with your dog between sessions. Consistency and practice are key to achieving desired results.
-
Shall I feed my dog before the training? For better motivation during training sessions, it is recommended not to feed your dog within 2-3 hours prior to training. This helps increase their food motivation and focus during the session. Additionally, it is important to avoid walking your dog immediately after a meal to prevent the risk of bloat or gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), which can be a serious and potentially life-threatening condition.
-
How long is the waiting list?My waiting list for appointments is typically around a week-1.5 week, although there may be occasional instances where it could be longer due to seasonal fluctuations and the availability of me. While I strive to accommodate earlier appointments when possible, I cannot guarantee immediate availability or start training on the following day. I appreciate your understanding and patience as I work to provide the best possible service.

How many sessions do I need to book?If you are unsure about the number of sessions recommended for a specific training type, it is advisable to contact me for further clarification. Under each training type's details, you will find the recommended number of sessions specified, ensuring that you have the necessary information to make an informed decision. At my training facility, I do not offer one-session training (excluding consultations) as it is not deemed effective. It takes time to gauge a dog's response to training, and drawing conclusions solely based on one session is not accurate or reliable. In some cases, puppies or adult dogs, especially those undergoing rehabilitation, may feel anxious about meeting a stranger for the first time and may not readily cooperate, potentially leading to misconceptions for non-professionals. Therefore, I believe in providing a comprehensive training program that allows for a more accurate assessment and effective results. There is no change without commitment, and there is no change without consistency.
-
Can I pay by cash or weekly / session by session?I apologize for any inconvenience, but I only accept bank transfers as a mode of payment. I do not offer session by session or weekly payments. In order to attend the first training session, the entire training payment must be paid in advance by the due date mentioned on the invoice.
-
My puppy is nipping, shall I need to book aggressive behavioural training?Aggressive behavior is indeed uncommon in young puppies, particularly up to 12 weeks of age. Nipping and growling during play is a normal part of puppy behavior and should not be mistaken for aggression. This is something that inexperienced or first-time dog owners may need reassurance about, as they may misunderstand these behaviors. It's important to understand and distinguish normal puppy behavior from true aggression to properly address any concerns.
-
Where will the training be?The training session will be conducted either at your home or a nearby park for your convenience.
-
When my puppy can start the training? To ensure the best results, I require puppies to be a minimum of 8 weeks old before starting training. After your puppy arrives at your home, I recommend waiting approximately a week to allow them to settle in with you and your family. However, during this time, you can still enroll for training and have a consultation session with me. This session will cover important topics such as toilet training, managing the first few nights, and preventing biting and jumping behaviors.
-
Is it any discount for the training? If you enroll with two dogs that both require training, you will receive a 10% discount off the total price. If you enroll with three dogs, the discount increases to 20%. Please note that a minimum of three training sessions need to be booked in order to be eligible for these discounts.
-
Where will be the first session? The first training session will primarily take place at the client's home, but the I will communicate and decide on a specific location based on the dog's needs and the training requirements. Puppy training typically begins in the client's home, with approximately 99% of the training sessions taking place there. However, if the puppy specifically requires leash training, that aspect of the training take place outside. Dog rehabilitation programs typically prioritize conducting the initial session in the client's home. This allows for a comprehensive assessment of the dog's background and history, which is critical in addressing specific behavioural issues. Some rehabilitation is only home training (resource guarding; separation anxiety).
