What’s Obedience Training, and how do I know if my dog needs it?

What's dog obedience training
Dog obedience training isn’t about fixing behavioural issues, it’s about teaching or reinforcing commands and manners to build daily structure. It’s the foundation for every dog who knows how to behave at home, on walks, and in public. I, Viktoria, use a structured, Force-Free approach based on repetition, discipline, and clear guidance. Every plan is personalized, not just to your dog’s breed, but to their unique personality. No harsh tools. No punishing. Just consistent, positive training that works in real life.
Common reasons dogs might need Obedience Training for
- Pulling on the leash during walks
- Not responding to commands like “come,” “stay,” or “leave it”
- Jumping on people or guests and ignoring boundaries
- Getting distracted easily, especially outdoors
- Struggling to focus or listen around other dogs or people
- Destroying things like furniture, clothes, etc
- Overexcitement during greetings or outings
If your dog shows these behaviours, they may simply need obedience training to create structure, focus, and day-to-day cooperation.
Choose the training program that suits you the best

Basic Obedience Training
Done-with-you foundational training—Perfect for dogs who are new to training or need to brush up on their manners. I’ll work hands-on with your dog in your home environment while teaching you how to reinforce everything between sessions. Across multiple sessions, we’ll:
- Teach key commands: sit, stay, down, come, heel, and leave it, not as tricks, but as valuable, everyday tools.
- Improve walk behaviour and calmness indoors so you can enjoy quiet evenings without always being on alert.
- Fix bad habits like jumping or poor recall so you’re not apologising at the park or chasing your dog down the street every weekend

Advanced Obedience Training
Done-with-you deep training — For dogs who know the basics but need to master them in real-life settings. This isn’t about teaching new commands; it’s about raising expectations, adding distractions, and building distance control.
We’ll:
- Reinforce core commands in parks, around guests, and amid distractions
- Build off-leash response, hand signals, and long-distance control; just wave, and Bobo comes
- Address getting distracted in new environments. Your dog shouldn't have to listen; they should want to.

Leash/Off-Leash training
Focused control training — Whether your dog’s pulling your arm off or ignoring you at the park, this program tackles both on-leash manners and off-leash freedom with trust.
We’ll work on:
- Calm, loose-leash walking so your shoulder finally gets a break (and you stop bracing for every squirrel or cat)
- Focused attention around distractions, so you’re not constantly correcting or tugging the leash
- Reliable off-leash recall and boundary training, so your dog doesn’t turn every outing into a marathon
- Distance commands and hand signals, so you're not yelling for Bobo while everyone at the park watches

1 & 2 weeks active training
Done-for-you intensive daily bootcamp — Your dog get my full attention, and you get results with less stress. In the first and final sessions, we train together so you're confident, keeping things on track.
Here's how it works:
- I work with your dog 1-on-1 over 5–10 consecutive days for 1 hour session daily, no effort needed on your side (I pick up your dog and drop it back after the 1 hour session each day)
- You receive updates and support, session videos, summaries, and guides.
- We wrap up with a joint session where you learn how to maintain the training, so you're not the only one in the house who didn't attend school.

Online/Home Consultation
Support, guidance and training from the comfort of your home — Not sure where to start? Book a consultation (online or at your home) so we can assess your dog’s behaviour, goals, and lifestyle before choosing the right program.
Book a consultation if you’re:
- Unsure what's really going on or what’s the problem, so you don’t waste time or money booking the wrong service
- Dealing with something like toilet training, so you don’t overcommit when you just need a simple solution
- Preparing for a new puppy, so you can start with a plan and skip the unexpected mix of cuteness and chaos.
- Nail clipping (available only in Wembley)
- Needing help with general support from diet and enrichment to daily routines

How do I know if you can help my dog or not?
I’ve spent most of my life around dogs, raised my dogs among my family. My professional background combines hands-on experience with some formal study, so you can feel confident your dog is in good hands.
Here’s what that looks like:
- Diploma in Canine Training (Force-Free methods)
- BSc in Canine Behavior & Psychology with MSc in progress
- Diploma in Veterinary Care Certification in Canine Nutrition
- 1,000+ dogs trained — from family pets to working dogs
- Recognized with 9 industry awards
- Ranked Top 3 dog trainers 4 years in a row
But never mind the titles, what really matters is that I’m very patient in the sessions (being a mother of 2 beautiful kids shaped this), I genuinely care about helping dogs — and their owners — feel understood, supported, and safe.
